The composition of the drug includes:

The drops do not contain pyrantel pamoate, the remaining substances are identical.

Composition and pharmacological properties.

Dironet® 500 tablets for dogs of medium breeds as active ingredients in 1 tablet contain pyrantel pamoate - 150 mg, praziquantel - 50 mg and ivermectin - 0.06 mg, as well as excipients.
Dironet tablets are intended for dogs. Dironet® 500 has a wide spectrum of nematocidal and cestodocidal action, is active against round and tape helminths parasitizing dogs and cats, including Toxocara canis, T. cati, Toxascaris leonina, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum, Trichuris vulpis, Echinococcus granulosus, E. multilocularis, Diphyllobothrium latum, Dipylidium caninum, Multiceps multiceps, Taenia spp., as well as larval developmental phases (microfilaria) of Dirofilaria immitis and Dirofilaria repens.

The mechanism of action of ivermectin is by binding to glutamate-dependent chloride channels located primarily in the swallowing and somatic muscles. As a result, the permeability of the membrane for chlorine ions increases, the transmission of neuromuscular impulses is blocked, paralysis and death of the parasite occurs.

The mechanism of action of pyrantel pamoate is to block neuromuscular transmission, disrupt the permeability of cell membranes and inhibit cholinesterase, which also leads to paralysis and death of the parasite.

The mechanism of action of praziquantel is based on disruption of glucose transport and microtubular function in cestodes, inhibition of fumarate reductase activity and ATP synthesis, increased permeability of cell membranes and disruption of muscle innervation.

Pills

The tablets are convenient to give to large breed dogs. The suspension is not very suitable in this case, since several syringes are required. The disadvantages are that capricious dogs may refuse to swallow it, then you will have to resort to some tricks.

Dosage

For the treatment of nematodes and cestodes, the dog is given 1 tablet per 10 kilograms of the animal’s weight. If the pet is over 60 kilograms, then a consultation is required before treatment.

Methods of application

Give the tablet strictly in the morning feeding. There is no need to adhere to special diets before deworming; laxatives should not be given to the animal either.

The use of the drug directly depends on the form of release.

Pills

One of the advantages of the medicine is that it does not require gastric lavage or an enema before taking it. If the tablet form of the medicine is chosen, Dironet should be given once in the morning. There are two possible options for using tablets:

Crush the tablets and mix them with a small amount of food. Make sure your dog eats all of the mixture.
Use an introducer (a special device for taking medications) or simply place the tablet on the back of the tongue and make sure the animal swallows it.

Animal introducer

Suspension

Drops

According to the instructions, Dironet spot-on for dogs is intended for outdoor use. Apply the medicine dropwise to places inaccessible to the animal (so that the dog does not lick it off). For animals weighing more than 30 kg, you need to calculate the dose individually - 0.2 ml of medicine per 1 kg of weight.

When using medicine to get rid of ear mites, you need to drip it into the ear canal.

To prevent the appearance of fleas and other ectoparasites, treatment is carried out once a month during the period of their activity. It is also necessary to change the litter and treat household items from parasites. For deworming, the drug is applied once a quarter.

Drops on the withers "Spot-On"

The advantage of the drug is that it fights not only internal parasites, but also those that live on the dog (fleas, lice, lice). The danger of drops is that the animal can lick them from the application site.

How to use:

Choose a place for application: spine, neck, shoulder blades.

Mode of application

Dironet is prescribed for preventive purposes and for treating dogs against worms, as well as before routine vaccination and mating.

The drug is administered in the morning feeding and does not require a fasting diet before or after administration.

Dosages and methods of administration depending on the form of release and the weight of the animal:

Pills. Administered orally in the ratio of 1 tablet per 10 kg of animal body weight: with a small amount of food directly on the root of the tongue or dissolved in 20 ml of water using a syringe.

Suspension. It is administered under the tongue or directly on the root of the tongue using a dispensing pipette, based on the calculation of 1 ml per 1 kg of weight. For puppies weighing less than 5 kg, you need to measure out 1-2 ml of suspension and add 3 ml of cold, boiled water to it and bring the mass to a homogeneous state.

Drops. Apply to 3-4 places on the skin of the back in the area from the shoulder blades to the sacrum in a dosage of 0.2 ml per 1 kg of body weight, that is, before and after applying the drug it is not recommended to take water procedures for 4 days.

Dironet and Dironet Spot-On are used for medicinal purposes once . In advanced cases, re-use is possible after 14 days. To prevent re-infection, the product is used once a quarter. In areas with unfavorable conditions regarding dirofilariasis during the period of activity of mosquitoes and mosquitoes, from April to November the drug is used once a month.

If the dog weighs less than 500 grams, then the measured dose is mixed with 30 ml of water and poured into the animal’s mouth. For preventive purposes, give the medicine once every few months. Take the drug seven days before vaccination.

What do "200" and "1000" mean?

In what cases should the drug be used?

Contraindications
